The game mechanics are some of the best for the SV/EV style games with heavy characters like Kat being much faster and much more fun to play than they were in EV. The game also now has telegraphs to tell you where enemies are attacking so blocks / parries are much easier to pull off. To top it all off the story is a much more series tone, something that really was needed since SV, of course this is a remake but I hope this is what they are planning to look towards in the future rather than endless beach parties.However this game isn't without its faults, its extremely repetitive, a fact mainly that comes through because there are only 10 playable characters as opposed to the 20+ in SV/EV, what also makes this reptition more grueling is the fact there are several long stretches in the story mode where you play as ONE character and some barely get any spotlight for several chapters! On top of that the exploration factor is minimal compared to SV/EV and the fact that many of the maps are reused from those games you start to wonder if all the budget went into the shiney new character models and nothing else. This is also compounded by most of the design being done in 3's: face 2 groups of mooks then a boss or just face 3 groups of mooks and no boss! The mission design really leaves something to be desired even on the back of EV which to its credit had some variation with items you could pick up and more diverse arenas to fight in.Game is fun but with a fair number of flaws, if you have watched the Anime Season 1 you've pretty much gotten most of the story but the gameplay is definately a step above EV, pretty much on par with SV and then some.. Even though it's a remake of a 3DS game I'm aware of that but really I'm comparing it to like Shinovi VS or Estival VS like I felt the content was lacking compared to those games like I'm not talking about like the intimacy mode like that is in this version I'm talking about like the Shinobi hearts. Having other character campaigns as DLC? ah no thx. The humor is still great like always in the series. This game may not be in my recommended requirements it still runs fine like may had some frame rate drops in battle at times & the real long boot up for a game that I've ever experienced like I had to wait by making some coffee before I'd see the title screen. Great game :). boobs boobs and ninjas. amazing graphics,good playability really a good game from Senran Kagura Series. Highly recommended, the game looks beautiful, if you like fan service this is game for you; plus the new combat guard and renewal move is just great.only 1 con the scenarios are a bit short, if only they add more waves, but nothing game breaking, just remember is a remake of the first Senran Kagura. 9.5/10. Same SK as usual but the combat has been improved on in this one with the added parry and burst mechanics. Really fun, too bad there's no vs mode with the additions made to the combat system. The user interface in particular is alos really cleaned up and nice looking in this.It's solid, and it's the burst story all over again, which is fine and all. But honestly if you're like me and have been playing this series for a long time I think you'll share my biggest gripe and that is that the unlockable outfits are once again the exact same. If you want to corner cut and reuse environments ok, but I hope that one day we get a full set of new outfits. Everyone is here because they are fans of the characters so let us have more fun with them. Heck just port in the outfits from the mobile game even, there's so many great ones there that I wish I could use in the main games.Overall besides that gripe this is a good entry point into the series as it retells the origins, and a lot of the characters' personalities are fleshed out here more than the other titles available on steam. You get the backstories and introductions to everyone and get to watch them grow a bit through their training. And again the combat just feels good in this game mostly due to the added mechanics. If you're looking for a turn your brain off type of game with a fun female cast then you already know this is for you.
